Summer Shoes

Summer shoes

Wedge: Autograph at Marks and Spencer - £49.50; Flat: Carvela at Kurt Geiger - £75; Boat shoe: Aldo - £45
Summer is finally here in London so I'm thinking about updating my summer shoe collection.  I particularly love these flats from Kurt Geiger and if you pick up Marie Claire you can get 25% off until the end of May - or use MC25 if you're shopping online.

Mix & Match

Tops: Pink - H&M £3.99; Blue - J.Crew $50; Purple - Wallis £9.80 (sale)
Bottoms: Floral - Oasis £14; Striped - Debenhams £26 (sale); Ruffle - Dorothy Perkins £9

With summer holidays around the corner (6 weeks and counting til my first weekend away) I'm starting to think about my beach outfits.  I'm sure I'm not the only one with an abundance of swimwear - I seem to buy a couple of new sets every year and I don't throw the old ones out.  This year I haven't seen a set that's grabbed me so I'm all about the separates.

Buying a new top to go with existing bikini bottoms means you get that update but if you're like me you don't have to scour the shops for flattering bottoms as you can use last years (or in my case some that are 2/3 years old!).

I've already nabbed the pink H&M top.  For £3.99 you can't go wrong and it doubles as a halter and bandeau.  I have to say H&M have a great selection of mix and match separates this year.

If you're looking for sets, I'd recommend TK Maxx for discounted brands like Seafolly and Ondademar.  I even got a DKNY set from there a few years ago for peanuts!

Are any of you going on beach holidays this summer?

Whirlwind

Firstly, apologies for going AWOL for such a long time.  This month has been hectic - I'm finishing up my portfolio for my qualification that's coming to an end, I've got three big conferences coming up at work to prepare for and probably most importantly, my dad nicked his DSLR back so that teamed with the most awful wet weather here in London = no outfit posts.

It's not all bad though, I recently got a promotion at work (yay me!) so amongst the doom and gloom of everything else I thought I'd give myself a present.

As I'm still sticking to my bag ban in 2012 I knew I wanted something in that arena but without cheating on the ban.  It also needed to be classic and something that I will use everyday (it was very nearly an umbrella!).  I decided on this Marc by Marc Jacobs petal to the metal wallet.

You may remember me lusting after this design way back in 2010!  I was torn between the fuschia and black but I think the black is more me and something classic that will go with everything.  My trusty Kate Spade wallet has done a great job for the past four years so I think it was time for a new one.  I can't wait for it to arrive!
