Yesterday I managed to get a small amount of my latest vintage haul on eBay. A little fact for you - DEFRA estimate that, of the tonnage of clothing that comes into the UK, only 12 - 20% goes back out (through recycling or given to charities abroad etc). The rest of the clothing is either thrown away or hoarded in our lofts. That's a lot of clothing!
Of my finds on Saturday, I'm particularly excited about the vintage Burberry mac, batwinged leather jacket and various beautiful handbags (including a Chloe epi leather shoulder bag with gold chain whose authenticity I'm not entirely convinced of).

Phew!
What a week it's been so far. I've been adding items to my eBay shop most evenings and there will be a few vintage skirts going on tonight so watch this space! As well as listing items on eBay, I have also been buying *slaps wrist*. These gorgeous trousers are from Whistles, they are straight leg and perfect for work - I just hope they fit!
I have also been invited to a 20's themed birthday party in November. I was considering wearing a flapper dress (I have a cheap fancy dress version), but my friend Kat sent me a link to this website where they had a gorgeous 20's inspired drop waist dress. £18, what a bargain!

New things and weekend plans
I love getting home and having parcels waiting for me. Yesterday my Westwood Rocks pearls on organza bracelets arrived. I bought three colours; black with natural pearls, navy with natural pearls and peach with peach pearls. I got a complimentary one with my order too which was ivory with natural pearls. They look great when you mix them up. Today I'm wearing the peach and navy strands together - really pretty.
Yesterday I popped into DP and bought a navy 3/4 length sleeve cardigan with rouching on the shoulders and lime green belt - see pics below. I'm planning on wearing these tonight with my NL skinny jeans, Office tan tangle weave flats and a beige sequined top from Topshop (which I picked up in a charity shop for £3). I'm off to see a Chasing Ora gig near Warren St. A friend of my fiance's plays guitar in the band - they're pretty good.
Tomorrow I'm going to be sorting out more items to eBay so if you are interested then follow my link to my eBay shop! In the evening I have my friends husbands 30th. He is having a cocktail party with Guitar Hero (in true bloke style!) at their house, but they've made it black tie. I'm hoping to wear my blue polka dot halter from Vivien of Holloway with a black pencil skirt and my white TS heels that I got from eBay a few weeks ago. A bit of a mish mash but I think it'll work.
Sunday I'm off to a family party, so a similar outfit to this evening - except I'll be wearing a different TS top.
Have a fabulous weekend all!

Wedding Belle
My search for my wedding head gear could be over! I've come across a picture of what I want, now all I need to do is find it. This birdcage veil will go very nicely with the rest of my wedding outfit (can't go into too much detail as my fiance sometimes reads my blog).
I'm actually quite tempted to get myself a pill box hat. There are a few on eBay that I'm watching...
One for my wishlist...
I wants it...my precioussssssss
To be worn with a black vest or t-shirt, black patent heels and my jean jacket. Any other ideas?
Clerkenwell Vintage Fashion Fair
I'm hoping to make it down to the Clerkenwell Vintage Fashion Fair on Sunday afternoon. As well as having a great selection of clothes and accessories, Lipstick and Curls will also be there doing makeup and hair.
BUPA Great Capital Run
I'm taking part on Sunday and have finally managed to trim down my 5K time to under 30 minutes (which I was very pleased with).
A stitch in time...

Hunting for pearls...
Well not exactly hunting because I already know where they are, but it does involve a bit of a trek. These beautiful pearls on organza come from Westwood Rocks. You can buy online but I'm hoping to make a special trip to Guildford in the next few weeks to buy a couple. I'm thinking of getting a string of peach, denim and ivory, and plaiting them together. You can wear these as a necklace, or on your wrist or ankle (I prefer the wrist option).
Autumn
I exclaimed my first, "Fuck! It's cold!", of the season today so it must be Autumn. Kids are back to school, new pencils, books and bags...coats, shoes (any excuse!) ;o)
I'm off to Hed Kandi at Pacha for a friend's birthday at the end of September. I'm not normally one for planning my outfits too far in advance as I tend to get bored of the idea before I even try it all on, but in this case I need to plan! The reason for this is that I haven't been clubbing for a good few years and at the age of 29 I don't think they'll allow me entry for much longer. As I've never been to Pacha, but have always wanted to go, I want to make some sort of effort.
The outfit: I'm thinking about wearing some high-wasited shorts with a plain bandeau top tucked in, and flat black shoes. Fairly minimal (but hopefully not boring) as I want to be comfortable. BUT. I would love a statement necklace to go with my outfit, something very similar to this bad boy.

Beautiful, isn't it? Not £650 beautiful IMO, but gorgeous all the same.
I'm hoping to find something similar on the High St, or possibly on eBay, so I'm keeping my eyes peeled.
FitFlops
I am an advocate of comfortable shoes (not including Crocs, but that's another story), I bought a pair of FitFlops this summer for my walk to and from work. They are the most comfortable shoes I've ever owned. They definitely aren't the most pretty shoes but they have done wonders for my posture and thigh muscles. With this in mind, let me introduce you to the first item on my wish list. The Mukluk boot. These babies are £125 so I won't be getting them any time soon but I will be lusting after them once the weather turns foul and I'm still persevering in the flip flop versions.

eBay
You will soon discover that I am addicted to eBay. I enjoy both buying and selling, but mainly buying (of course). Recently, I've purchased these lovely items...
These Topshop white leather shoes
And this New Look tea dress.
I'm looking forward to seeing how the two go together. The white shoes were originally bought with another outfit in mind but that is another post...

Go!
I'm starting to think my blog name may have delusions of grandeur. I'm no style hound but I know what I like. The purpose of this blog is pretty much to tell you, the reader (probably just people who know me, but who knows), what I like, what I've bought, what I've discovered - either on my own or through others and anything else that ties into what people are wearing/buying these days.
So, me me me. I'm not in the fashion industry, which will become achingly apparent at this blog develops. I live in a lovely village near Richmond with my fiance, no doubt references to him will creep into the blog. I work in the city; enjoy my job - I like watching old movies, listening to music, learning to Lindy Hop and attempting to sing (my fiance is a singing teacher) don't worry I will save your ears and never post any links to this blog!
